Meet Ronald L. Yahr Jr.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a husband, father, grandfather, and Christian author who loves discovering God’s presence in the everyday details of life.

My faith has been an important part of my journey for many years. I attended Moody Bible Institute and had the privilege of serving as a youth pastor and a deacon in my church. Those experiences helped deepen my love for God’s Word and my desire to share biblical truths in ways people can understand and apply to everyday life.

For many years, I also owned and operated a swimming pool company. Working with customers, solving problems, and building a business taught me valuable lessons about hard work, patience, perseverance, and trusting God through life’s challenges.

But my journey hasn’t always been easy.

In 2021, I experienced a life-threatening illness that resulted in an extended hospital stay, multiple surgeries, and a long road to recovery. There were days when the future was uncertain, but through it all, God continued writing my story.

That experience gave me a deeper appreciation for the small blessings we sometimes overlook. Ordinary objects, childhood memories, nature, family adventures, and everyday experiences began taking on new meaning as reminders of God’s love and faithfulness.

That perspective eventually inspired my devotional writing and the Finding God in Life’s Details collection.

Life Beyond the Books

When I’m not writing, you’ll often find me spending time with my wife, Becky, enjoying our children and grandchildren, or working on a project in my woodshop.

I enjoy creating things with my hands, especially woodworking projects that transform ordinary pieces of wood into something useful or meaningful. There’s something special about seeing the potential in a piece of wood and patiently shaping it into something new.

I’ve discovered that God often works in our lives in much the same way.

I also enjoy the outdoors, animals, and the little adventures that make everyday life memorable. Whether I’m watching the activity in our backyard, working in my shop, or remembering a family road trip from years ago, I’m constantly discovering new illustrations of God’s goodness.

Many of those ordinary moments eventually find their way into my devotions and books.

Why I Write

My goal as an author isn’t simply to write books. It’s to encourage people to recognize God’s presence in the ordinary moments of life.

I believe God can use a childhood toy, a backyard animal, a woodworking project, a difficult season, or even an unexpected adventure to remind us of His love, His faithfulness, and His purpose.

My prayer is that something you read here will encourage your heart, strengthen your faith, and help you see God’s hand at work in your own story.

Because Jesus holds the pen, your story is still being written!
